GOLDEN VALLEY, Minn. - United Way Action Day is a chance for thousands to learn about issues impacting our community, mobilize and make a difference through rolling up their sleeves by volunteering.
Greater Twin Cities United Way invites the public to "Unleash the Power of We" by giving just a small amount of their time to volunteer on the inaugural United Way Action Day, Wednesday, August 22.
Sarah Caruso, President and CEO of Greater Twin Cities United Way, joined KARE 11 Sunrise Wednesday morning to talk about the many volunteer opportunities they are encouraging people to try.
Some of the volunteer options are:
Speed Volunteering in downtown Minneapolis and The Ecolab Plaza in St. Paul; Agency Projects at local non-profit organizations, Arc Greater Twin Cities, Kaleidoscope Place and Second Harvest Heartland; or the Team Challenge and Celebration at Mall of America.
