ROSEVILLE, Minn. - Changes are in store for motorists travelling on I-694 between Highway 61 and 40th Street North in Oakdale, Mahtomedi, Vadnais Heights, White Bear Lake and Maplewood starting on Friday.
As crews prepare to switch traffic to the northbound and westbound side of the roadway they will first need until Monday to move concrete barriers from southbound and eastbound lanes to the northbound and westbound lanes of I-694.
During this time northbound and westbound and southbound and eastbound traffic will be separated into onto their usual sides of the roadway in a single lane between Highway 36 and Highway 61. This transition phase is expected to begin Friday and be completed by Monday, weather permitting.
Traffic will remain reduced to a single lane in each direction through early November as crews resurface the roadway to provide a smoother and safer ride for motorists.
Motorists are advised to seek alternate routes and follow posted detours during ramp closures.
