RAMSEY, Minn. - Authorities say one person is dead after a head-on collision late Thursday night.
Ramsey Fire Chief Dean Kapler says the crash happened at approximately 11:30 p.m. near the intersection of County Road 7 and 178th Lane Northwest.
The driver of one of the vehicles was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the second vehicle was transported to Mercy Hospital. The condition of the second driver is unknown, but Kapler said that driver was alert and responsive before leaving the crash site.
Kapler says the accident happened along a long curve in the road. He said there are not a lot of accidents on that stretch of road, but when there is, they are usually a result of high speeds.
It is not known if alcohol was involved.
The Minnesota State Patrol is investigating.
