ROCHESTER, Minn. - An Austin woman is accused of assaulting a man with a guitar, leaving him with a gash over his left eye.
Robyn Kay Halverson, age 56, is charged with second-degree assault with a dangerous weapon and domestic assault.
The victim is a 53-year-old man. He told police that Halverson got mad about something Friday night and threatened to smash a large-screen TV with the six-string acoustic guitar.
The man says she began swinging the guitar like a baseball bat. A Post-Bulletin report says when the man tried to intervene, the guitar caught him on the forehead.
The police report says the man claims the strike "was no accident."
Authorities say they asked the woman why she did it and Halverson replied, "Because I've been drinking."
