MINNEAPOLIS - The heat is being turned up on a warehouse district nightclub targeted by Minneapolis city officials as a nuisance business.

Shortly after 10:30 a.m. Friday investigators from the Minneapolis Police Department's License Investigation Division and agents from the Minnesota Department of Revenue executed a search warrant at Envy, located on the 400 block of 1st Avenue.

The warrant was issued with probable cause for various alleged tax fraud violations. There is no word yet on what authorities found on the premisis.

Envy is one of two warehouse district nightclubs blamed for an uptick in crime this summer on Sunday nights. Minneapolis licensing officials are pushing to revoke the liquor licenses at both Envy and Bootleggers, alleging the clubs are poorly run, serve underage drinkers, allow the illegal use of narcotics, and other violations.
