Macalester College exchange student hit and killed by a car

ST. PAUL, Minn - A French exchange student attending Macalester College has died at Regions Hospital in St. Paul.

Cleo Thiberge was hit by a car on Wednesday when crossing the street at the intersection of Grand and Hamline Avenues.

The Macalester College Dean of Students, Jim Hoppe, issued the following statement: 

"It is with deep sadness that I write today to inform you that Cleo Thiberge, one of our exchange students, died on Sunday, September 2, at Regions Hospital in St. Paul. Cleo was hit by a car when crossing the street at the intersection of Grand and Hamline Avenues in St. Paul. This is a deep loss to our college community.

Our deepest condolences and care go out to Cleo's family and friends. Please hold the Thiberge family in your thoughts and prayers."
