BURNSVILLE, Minn. - A multi-vehicle crash with at least one serious injury has shut down all lanes of I-35W northbound near the Cliff Road exit.

Minnesota State Patrol spokesman Lt. Eric Roeske says traffic had slowed down for a construction zone but the driver of a semi truck did not react in time. The truck plowed into three vehicles, injuring three people.

One of those injuries is considered serious.

MnDOT traffic cameras show a semi truck and at least two additional vehicles tangled up in the right hand lanes, and emergency responders are blocking the remaning lanes as they tend to victims and clean up.

As of 1:30 p.m. northbound traffic is significantly backed up while vehicles are retouted, with a single lane being allowed to crawl by on the inside median.

Motorists are being encouraged to use other roads until the accident scene is cleared, which will likely be a number of hours.
