MINNEAPOLIS - A Missouri double murder suspect is held in the Hennepin County jail after turning himself in to Minneapolis Police Friday morning.

Officers had been on the lookout for Darnell Vaughn since receiving information that the suspect, wanted on a warrant from Ferguson, Missouri, was in the Twin Cities area.

Minneapolis Police spokesman Sergeant William Palmer says Vaughn called 911 around 4:30 a.m. and told police where they could find him. Squads from the First Precinct responded to 3rd Avenue South and South 11th Street and took the suspect into custody without incident.

Vaughn was considered a threat to law enforcement as he had made statements that he intended to resist anyone who tried to arrest him. He was believed to be armed though no firearm was located when he was arrested.
