Dozens of puppies will soon be in need of temporary homes.

Can Do Canines in New Hope breeds assistance dogs. Owners say that three of its female labs happened to get pregnant at the same time.

That means some 30 puppies could be born nearly all at once. Already nine puppies have been born.

The nonprofit organization says it needs homes where these puppies can live until they're trained further by professionals.

"We're looking for some puppy raisers," said Alan Peters, of Can Do Canines. "People who will take these dogs into their homes and love them and care for them and help train them during the first 16 months of their lives."

People who'd like to volunteer will need to apply.

The dogs will eventually be trained to help people with various issues ranging from mobility impairments to autism.

The organization says it provides the dogs free of charge to those who need them.
