ST. PAUL, Minn. - An elderly man is hospitalized after a car smashed through the front of a bank Friday morning.
Police tell KARE 11 that a 51-year-old driver with her learners permit was driving with a licensed driver when she panicked in oncoming traffic, hit the accelerator and drove into the front of the Cherokee Bank at Osceola and Randolph.
The woman's vehicle struck a pillar in the bank's entry, and it fell on a 71-year-old bank patron. He was taken to the hospital with injuries.
