MANKATO, Minn. - The attorney for Minnesota State, Mankato football coach Todd Hoffner wants greater access to videos that led to child pornography charges against his client.
Jim Fleming is asking a judge to order prosecutors to give him the images so he can work on a proper defense. Fleming says without his own copies, he has to go to the sheriff's office to view them.
Fleming also wants details about what authorities found on a cell phone and computers seized weeks ago. He says he was told in court that the investigation is complete. Messages left with the sheriff's department and prosecutors were not immediately returned Friday.
Fleming says the videos that led to charges against Hoffner are not child pornography and were innocent images of Hoffner's own children being silly.
Also released, authorities say they found no evidence of child pornography on computers taken from the home of a Minnesota football coach after he was accused of having pornographic videos of his children on his cellphone.
Blue Earth County Sheriff's Capt. Rich Murry said Friday that a search of materials taken from Minnesota State, Mankato coach Todd Hoffner's home found "no additional items that would be considered child pornography."
Hoffner's wife and attorney have insisted that the videos were innocent images of his children being silly. His attorney didn't immediately return a phone call.
