TRACY, Minn. -- A woman and her three young daughters were injured when their house exploded and started on fire Saturday morning.
It happened about 9 a.m. at 213 Elm Street in Tracy in southwestern Minnesota. Neighbors say they heard the explosion, then shattering glass as all the home's windows broke and debris flew across the street.
Witnesses say the woman ran outside with her two year old daughter while her seven year old girl ran out a side door. But a two month old baby was still in her crib inside, and a man who lives across the street raced in the house to save her.
All four victims were taken to the Tracy Hospital, then airlifted to a different hospital for treatment.
The woman is listed in critical condition at Regions Hospital. Condition reports on the three children haven't been released.
Neighbor Sheena Schons says all four appeared to have burns to their skin and hair.
The house was fully engulfed in flames and firefighters from Tracy, Balaton and Walnut Grove worked quickly to extinguish it.
The cause of the explosion and fire remains under investigation.
