BLOOMINGTON, Minn. - Sgt. John Stacke feels justice has been served after hearing that Gerret Parks pled guilty. "I'm excited and confident that the whole case will be done soon," said Sgt. Stacke with the Minnesota National Guard. "I just want to get on with my life."

Stacke was the victim of an odd crime in February in which 39-year old Gerret Parks threw a metal vice out his window ultimately striking Stacke in his car. The incident left the Iraq War veteran with serious injuries to his teeth and jaw bones.

Parks admits he had thrown several objects at passing cars in the past and confesses to heavily drinking during the incidents. He's expected to be sentenced to 75 months behind bars early next week.

"To me, it's crazy," said Sgt. Stacke. "I don't know what goes on in your mind that would cause you to do these kinds of things."

Stacke has two more major surgeries that will ultimately repair his teeth and facial bones. The recovery has been easier thanks to the support he's received from all over the country.

"It's been very overwhelming and very humbling," he says. "It's been amazing to see the outpouring of support."

Parks will be sentenced on Tuesday.
