FARMINGTON, Minn. - Running is a lifelong activity, and you need look no farther than Farmington's Akin Elementary School.
KARE 11 meteorologist Sven Sundgaard visited the school Friday morning for Run with KARE, the station's run-up to the Twin Cities Marathon.
Students are preparing for the 2nd Annual Tiger Trot, which takes place Friday night from 5 to 7 p.m. Kids have collected pledges, and will run or walk to raise funds for the school. One hundred percent of the take will go towards programs that enhance the lives and learning of students, but the kids also learn how important it is to be healthy and active.
Organizers think as many as 500 children and adults will participate in this year's Tiger Trot.
