MANKATO, Minn. - The State Patrol says a 35-year-old female motorcyclist died in an accident in Blue Earth County Monday afternoon.
The accident happened near the intersection of Highway 22 and Victory Drive around 3:45 p.m. A motorcycle traveling south on Hwy. 22 approached a Ford Focus traveling east on Victory Drive. The Focus tried to turn north onto Hwy. 22 and the motorcyclist braked suddenly to avoid a collision with the Focus. The motorcyclist lost control and was ejected from the machine. She was taken to a hospital where she later died.
Jeni J. Johnson of Vernon Center was identified by the State Patrol as the motorcyclist who died. The driver of the Focus and a passenger in that car suffered no apparent injuries.
The Mankato Fire Department assisted the State Patrol in this accident.
