BUFFALO, Minn. - A 30-year-old Buffalo man has been arrested in connection with vandalism at six churches in the Buffalo area.

Buffalo Police say the suspect has confessed to the vandalism, and believe he was "angry with God" due to recent problems in his personal life.

Investigators confirm they tracked down the suspect through several tips.

Police Chief Mitch Weinzetl says sometime Saturday, the suspect placed posters with "vile language" towards Christians and the gay community. Then on Monday, police say he went back to several more churches to damage buildings.

In all, St. Francis Xavier, Zion Lutheran, 7th Day Adventist, Buffalo Presbyterian, Hosanna Lutheran, and the Buffalo United Methodist Church were targeted between Saturday night and Monday afternoon.

The suspect is being held at the Wright County Jail pending felony charges of criminal damage to property. Charges are expected either Thursday or Friday.
