BURNSVILLE, Minn. - A Burnsville woman is charged with 4 gross misdemeanors, including endangerment of a child and third degree DWI, after crashing her vehicle with 5 children inside.
Burnsville Police were called to the intersection of Evergreen Drive and Ashton Circle the morning of September 27 on reports of an accident with injuries.
Responding officers say they detected the odor of alcohol on one of the drivers, 30-year-old Amy Yvonne Mullin. Mullin originally told police she had four children in the vehicle with her at the time of the accident, but soon a fifth child came up to officers and told them she was in the car as well.
The children were ages 7, 5, 4, 2 and 9 months.
Mullin explained that the 7 and 5 year-olds were buckled together in the front seat next to her.
Police performed a preliminary breath test which registered Mullin's blood alcohol level at .175. She later tested at .15, within two hours of driving the vehicle.
If convicted Amy Mullin faces up to one year in prison on each of the four criminal counts.
