LACROSSE, Wis. - As morning news anchor for WKBT Television in LaCrosse Jennifer Livingston is used to communicating with a fairly large audience.

But Wednesday morning... things were on an entirely different scale.

Livingston made the rounds on the network morning shows, including NBC's Today, talking about an on-air stand she took Tuesday morning, responding to a viewer who chided her for her weight via email.

She talked to Today's Savannah Guthrie about why she drew the line with the viewer, and how she believes the internet has led to an entirely new way of bullying people that she says has to stop.

In Tuesday's four minute editorial an on-air editorial Livingston acknowledged being overweight - even obese, by medical standards - then added, "To the person who wrote me that letter, do you think I don't know that?"

She followed up by thanking her colleagues, family friends and the others who have come to her defense.

"I will never be able to thank you enough for your words of support and for taking a stand against this bully," she said. "We are better than this email. We are better than the bullies that will try to take us down."
