LA CROSSE, Wis. -- A Wisconsin TV news anchor is explaining the reasoning behind airing a viewer comment regarding her weight.

"I can deal with being called fat, I can deal with being called obese. It was calling me a bad role model that really rubbed me the wrong way," said La Crosse anchorwoman Jennifer Livingston during an appearance on the TODAY Show Wednesday morning.

The decision to air the email and her response came after thinking about her children.

"I'm having conversations with my 10 year old daughter about bullying right now and I'm telling her that if she sees bullying happen to other people she needs to take a stand," said Livingston. "What kind of message am I teaching her when my husband and I are talking about this mean email that I received and I'm not taking a stand for myself.

Take a stand she did.

The YouTube video has been viewed more than two million times in just one day and her story has been published in news articles around the world.

"What has happened has been really overwhelming but inspiring at the same time," said Livingston.
