TRIMBELLE TOWNSHIP, Wis. - A Minnesota man has died from injuries suffered when a motorist crossed the center line and struck his motorcycle Wednesday afternoon.
The Pierce County Sheriff's Department says 65-year-old Dennis Manning and 38-year-old passenger Stephanie Foster were riding in Wisconsin around 4:30 p.m. when they were hit by the vehicle on U.S. Highway 63 near the intersection with County Trunk Highway K.
Investigators say the driver of that vehicle, a 20-year-old woman from Red Wing, crossed the line with her Kia Sorrento and struck the cycle driven by Manning, from Pine Island, MN. After striking the motorcycle the woman's vehicle veered into a ditch and rolled.
The rider and passenger were thrown from the vehicle. Manning was airlifted to Regions Hospital where he died from his injuries. Foster was also airlifted to Regions with undetermined injuries.
There is no word on whether the 20-year-old motorist will be criminally charged in the incident.
