MINNEAPOLIS - One person is hospitalized after the canoe he was paddling capsized at Lake Snelling in Fort Snelling State Park Friday morning.
Airport Police and the Hennepin County Water Rescue Team were called to the lake around 8:40 a.m. on a report of people in the water.
Hennepin County Sheriff's spokesperson Lisa Kiava says one of the people fishing in the canoe was wearing a life vest and was able to stay above water, but the other was pulled under and did not resurface.
Rescue crews were eventually able to locate that paddler and get him to shore.
Both men were taken to United Hospital, where one man was treated and released. The condition of the other man was critical upon his arrival at the hospital.
