GOLDEN VALLEY, Minn. - Students throughout Minnesota get to sleep in Thursday and Friday, because it's Education Minnesota Professional Conference.
The event is at the St. Paul RiverCentre Oct. 18 and Oct. 19.
Close to 10,000 teacher, student teachers, support staff, administrator and college faculty are expected to attend the event.
The conference is the largest professional development event for educator in Minnesota.
Tom Dooher, the president of Education Minnesota visited KARE 11 Sunrise to talk about the weekend's events.
Doors open for the two-day conference at 7:30 a.m. on Oct. 1 and runs until 3:50 p.m. Friday, doors open at 8:45 a.m. to 12:15 p.m.
It's free and open to the public (no registration required), anyone who wants to learn more about teaching and learning is invited.
This year's conference theme: "Stepping Up to the Challenge."
