ST. LOUIS PARK, Minn. -- A driver who suffered an apparent medical emergency behind the wheel caused a chain-reaction crash Saturday afternoon that killed one person, according to police.
The accident happened around 3:15 p.m. on Highway 7 near Texas Avenue. Authorities say a sedan travelling eastbound rear-ended an SUV, setting off a chain-reaction crash involving five vehicles.
An elderly woman in the backseat of the car that caused the crash died at the scene. No one else was injured.
The name of the victim has not been released.
