GOLDEN VALLEY, Minn. - Kate Brown from Sweet Retreat Cupcake Boutique was on KARE 11 News @ 4 on Monday.
She talked about all of the fun Halloween treats that Sweet Retreat has for both adult and kid parties.
She also showed us how to make some cute Spider Cupcakes.
Here are the assembly instructions.
Parts needed in advance:
Unfrosted Cupcakes
Frosting placed in a piping bag or a sealed baggie
Pocky Sticks
Sugar eyes and Candy Melts - sold at Craft stores
Favorite colored sprinkles - found in most grocery or craft stores
Assembly:
Cut the Pocky sticks at a diagonal.
Melt candy melts in a microwave or stove top.
Dip end of Pocky sticks in the melted chocolate. Hold ends together for a few seconds. Lay down on a flat surface. Place in freezer if you want them to harden quickly.
Take your baggie (with a hole cut in a corner) or piping bag. Fill with frosting. Pipe the frosting on to the cupcake in a swirl pattern. Smooth out with a spatula.
Spoon your favorite sprinkles on thickly, covering up all of the frosting.
Press eyes into the front of the cupcake.
Take you Pocky legs and push one end into the cupcake, with four legs on each side.
Your spider is now ready to eat or to just be left alone and devoured later.
