ELK RIVER, Minn. - Two suspects are in custody after a home invasion in Elk River Wednesday night.

Elk River Police were called to a home on the 11000 block of 193rd Avenue shortly after 10:30 p.m. on a report of a home invasion that had just taken place.

The homeowners told responding officers that two men had entered the home, tied them up, then ransacked the house. The suspects eventually made off with several items.

Police set up a perimeter complete with K9 officers but were unable to locate the suspects. Eventually, information led them to South St. Paul where the men were taken into custody.

Prosecutors are expected to file charges of first degree burglary, aggravated robbery and second degree assault.

Investigators believe the home invasion was not a random act, and say the public is not in danger.
