WATERVILLE, Minn. -- It was an emotional high school football game in Waterville Saturday night. The community cheered on the Waterville-Elysian-Morristown in the wake of a terrible tragedy.
The body of 17-year old Brady Hruska was found Saturday afternoon after the boat he was in capsized. Hruska and three of his friends were duck hunting when they all fell overboard. Three made it to safety, but Brady never made it.
Hruska was a senior at W-E-M High School and a member of the football team. The team played on Saturday night, but the loss weighed heavy on the hearts of everyone in attendance.
"The seniors decided to play tonight and play for Brady," said John Caplan, the school's principal. "It's very courageous of them."
Fans and players wore lime green in his honor.
"He was a fun person and brought out the best in people," says Sean Klugharz. "We're all leaning on each other, but it's obviously very tough."
Counselors were on hand at the school on Saturday. That will continue Sunday and Monday.
