NORTHFIELD, Minn. - A manhunt in southeastern Minnesota is over after authorities located and arrested a man wanted in connection with an early morning motel robbery Monday.
Northfield police say 26-year-old Eric Forcier was taken into custody shortly before 11 a.m. in a wooded area not far from the Cannon River.
SKY 11 captured images of the suspect being arrested without incident.
Officers were called to the America's Best Value Inn at 1420 Riverview Drive in Northfield just after 2:45 a.m. on reports that a man had entered the motel and robbed an employee at gunpoint.
Responding officers located the getaway vehicle not far from the motel but the suspect was able to escape, firing shots at officers as he fled on foot. Police did arrest a female passenger who identified Forcier as the armed robber.
Northfield Police Chief Charles Walerius says the State Patrol helicopter, a handful of SWAT teams, K9 teams and dozens of officers and deputies were called in to conduct a high level search for Forcier.
