MINNEAPOLIS - Students and staff at a Minneapolis charter school are mourning the loss of a popular teacher who collapsed and died in her classroom Tuesday.
The principal at Menlo Park Academy confirms that 40-year-old Lori Blomme collapsed after telling students in her third-hour science class that she was feeling faint.
Students were moved to the school's gym while paramedics tried to revive Bloome.
Principal Helen Henly says Blomme taught at Menlo Park for nine years, calling her an amazing person and teacher. Students spent the remainder of Tuesday talking about the situation and on Wednesday will begin slowly getting back into their routine.
Blomme and her husband have two daughters, ages 6 and 8.
