HOPKINS, Minn. -- The Freshwater Society and Minnehaha Creek Watershed District invite community members and metro area lake and river groups participate in the Metro Summit for Lake and River Groups on Wednesday, November 7.
This is a unique opportunity for community members to learn from local leaders and professionals working to protect Minnesota's water resources.
The Summit will take place at the Eisenhower Community Center in Hopkins from 5-8:30. KARE 11 viewers can receive a $2 discount on registration through Nov. 5. The event will include a presentation on Aquatic Invasive Species and Local Government. Presenters include:
- Tony Brough, Hennepin County
- Rachael Crabb, Minneapolis Parks and Recreation Board
- Eric Evenson, Minnehaha Creek Watershed District
The presentation will include information on how citizens can partner with Minnesota's state and local governments to reduce the impact of aquatic invasive species.
