WAYZATA, Minn. - Students at Wayzata West Middle School are immersing themselves in this year's Presidential election.
They have been acting out several of the different steps in the election process and have even taken on the role of President Obama, Mitt Romney, campaign manager's, secret service agents and many more.
The students debated both sides of a number of issues and held a mock town hall debate in front of fellow classmates on Friday.
"In a wold of cynicism and attack ads it's been wonderful to see our kids focus in on the issues, choose opinions and be able to validate them through facts," says Mandy Kraus, social studies teacher.
The electoral experience will end Tuesday with the students casting mock ballots.
KARE 11's Bryan Piatt spent election-eve with the students to find out what they've learned.
