MINNEAPOLIS - Hennepin County prosecutors have dropped sexual molestation charges against Wayzata businessman William Wanner.

Prosecutors cite a lack of cooperation from the alleged victim on the eve of Wanner's trial. But Wanner's attorney calls the case a three-year witch hunt.

Wanner is the CEO of Wanner Industries. The 67-year-old was accused of repeatedly molesting the 10-year-old girl at the Minneapolis Club pool, and charged in January 2010 with two counts of second-degree criminal sexual conduct.

Wanner's attorney, Joe Friedberg, tells KARE 11 that the case never should have been brought in the first place.

The alleged victim's mother is a business partner of Wanner's.
