FRESNO, Calif. -- Police say a parolee opened fire on co-workers at a California food service company on Tuesday Nov. 6 shooting four.
Authorities say two more people have died after being shot at the California chicken processing plant, bringing the death toll to three.
Fresno County Coroner David Hadden said Tuesday the suspected gunman was among the additional two deaths. Police have identified him as 42-year-old Lawrence Jones.
It's not known what prompted the attack but workers at Apple Valley Farms in Fresno told police Jones didn't appear to be himself when he arrived at work this morning. They say about three and a-half hours into his shift, he pulled out a handgun and began firing.
Police say about 30 employees witnessed the shooting, and there were a total of 62 people at work when the gunfire started.
Police put Jones' home on lockdown and were searching to see if there were any other victims.
