CANBY, Minn. - Authorities evacuated a polling place in southwestern Minnesota after someone made an apparent bomb threat.
Yellow Medicine County elections official Janel Timm tells KARE 11 that a co-worker reported to her that there was a threat written on a wall in the women's bathroom. The person who saw it felt concerned enough to notify authorities.
Timm was told that the message involved a bomb threat but that hasn't been confirmed by law enforcement.
Police and fire personnel responded, quickly evacuating a four-block radius around campus and the polling place, which is inside a building adjacent to the main college building.
Voting was shut down from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. while the building was swept.
KARE 11 is following the story and will have details as they become available.
