ROSEVILLE, Minn. - When it comes to Minnesota's transportation system, progress always comes with a dose of pain.
The rebuilding of Highway 169 in Edina and Eden Prairie stands as proof. Regular closures have been part of the work, the latest of which will close 169 in both directions from Friday, November 9 through Monday, November 12.
Motorists will encounter delays and a detour as crews completely close the highway between Valley View Road and Interstate 494 at 10 p.m. Friday. They will be doing bridgework and highway striping.
Posted detours will direct motorists to bypass the closure via Highway 212, Highway 62 and Highway 100.
Access to Eden Prairie Center, local businesses and neighborhoods adjacent to the Highway 169/I-494 interchange will remain open and available during the closure.
The plan is for Highway 169 and all affected ramps to reopen by 5 a.m. Monday.
