NEW TRIER, Minn. - The Minnesota State Patrol has identified the victims of a crash in which one man was killed and another was critically injured around 2:40 p.m. Thursday.
Highway 50 in Dakota County was shut down after the car, traveling at high speed, went off the road and crashed into a tree.
Authorities say the car "went airborne for approximately 150 feet" before it hit the tree.
Both of the men were ejected.
Authorities say Dennis Underwood, 27, of Cannon Falls, died at the scene, and Keri Gesme, 26, of Hampton, was airlifted to Regions Hospital in St. Paul, where he was in critical condition.
UPDATE: As of 8:15 p.m. Thursday, Gesme was listed in serious condition at Regions Hospital.
