1 dead after semi hits tractor in southern MN

LAKEFIELD, Minn. - A southern Minnesota man is dead after his semi truck collided with with a tractor in rural Jackson County.

The State Patrol says 44-year-old Joseph Oliver of St. James was killed when his truck struck the tractor while passing on Highway 86 north of Lakefield, hit the ditch and rolled.

First responders extricated Oliver from the cab of the semi but he did not survive.

The driver of the Case International farm tractor, a 48-year-old man from Windom, was uninjured.
