MINNEAPOLIS - The University of Minnesota's Aquatic Center is the site this weekend for some serious competition in the pool.
The first meet of the USA Swimming Grand Prix Series gets underway on Friday and runs through Sunday.
It will bring in some familiar faces. Olympians Ryan Lochte and Missy Franklin are just some of the big names in Minneapolis this weekend.
"You're going to see some fast swimmers here," says meet director Annie White. "We're honored to host an event of this caliber."
Of the 400 athletes that will compete throughout the 3-day event, 66 of them are U of M swimmers. Six Olympic swimmers will compete as well.
"This is their first event since London," says White. "This is the time where they're getting back into training."
Tickets are $15 for adults and $5 for children. For more information, visit recsports.umn.edu/grandprix.
