COON RAPIDS, Minn. - Officials at Coon Rapids High School say a female student was approached twice by a man in a minivan while walking to school Thursday morning, according to police.

The student told police she was walking along 115th Avenue and Osage Street when a man in a minivan stopped and said what she thought was, "get in the car."

She said the man was calm, friendly and not aggressive.

She kept walking, and was approached again by the minivan at 115th Avenue and Partridge Street.

She says the man again asked her to get in the vehicle.

The man is described as a white male with blond hair, around 21 years old, and 175 pounds. He did not have facial hair or glasses, and he was wearing a black jacket. He was driving an "older model" dark purple minivan.

A note was sent home to students about the incident. Police would like to identify the driver, and are asking for the public to contact police if they saw anything. People with information should call the Coon Rapids Police Department at 763-767-6481.
