Hennepin County reports 84 percent voter turnout

MINNEAPOLIS - Eight-four percent of registered voters in Hennepin County turned out to vote on Nov. 6.

The Hennepin County Canvassing Board certified the results on Tuesday. The results showed that more than 610,000 people voted on Election Day and more than 72,000 voted prior Election Day.

In mentioning the high voter turnout, county officials took the opportunity to say thank you to the more than 5,000 election judges throughout the county.

On Election Day, 130,000 people registered to vote.
