MINNEAPOLIS -  Investigators hope a reward of up to $1,000 will lead to the arrest of a man sought in a sexual assault in Minneapolis Monday morning.

Squads were called to an area near West River Parkway and 27th Avenue around 7 a.m. and quickly learned that an adult female was walking to St. Catherine's University near Riverside Park when she was approached a male suspect. The suspect asked the victim for money, then forced her to walk to a wooded area nearby.

Once in the wooded area, the suspect sexually assaulted the victim before she was able to flee the area on foot. She was transported to an area hospital for treatment.

The victim describes the suspect as a black male, 5 feet 5 inches tall, medium to heavy build, 35 to 40 years old with an unshaven scruffy beard. He was wearing a navy blue jacket with a zipper.
