MINNEAPOLIS - The victim in a homicide investigation has been identified by Minneapolis police.
Squads were dispatched to the area of 26th Avenue and 3rd Street North at 11:55 p.m. on reports of shots fired on Wednesday.
When they arrived they found an unconscious adult male on the ground, suffering from at least one apparent gunshot wound.
The man is Richard Lee Jinkins, 30, of Minneapolis, according to the Hennepin County Coroner's office.
Wednesday's murder comes on the heels of two others this week. On Sunday night police were called to the 3900 block of Dupont Avenue North just after 10 p.m., where they found a man who had been shot to death.
Less than 24 hours before that homicide a man was discovered on the 3000 block of Girard Avenue North. Investigators say it appears he was beaten to death.
At this point it is unknown if any of the three murders are connected.
Anyone who knows anything about these incidents is asked to call Minneapolis Homicide Investigators at 612-673-2315 or 612-673-3572.
