ATV crash kills Twin Cities man

PARK RAPIDS, Minn. - A Twin Cities man is dead after an ATV crash in northern Minnesota.

Hubbard County Sheriff Cory Aukes says deputies responded to a 911 call shortly after 6 p.m. reporting an ATV crash in the Paul Bunyan State Forest.

Responding deputies learned that 26-year-old Aaron Sly of Bloomington was riding with a group of other four-wheelers on Steamboat Forest Road when he lost control of his Honda ATV and struck a tree. Sly, who was wearing a helmet, suffered serious head injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene.

Investigators say excessive speed was a factor in this accident.

This incident remains under investigation by the Hubbard County Sheriff's Office.
