My desk is positioned right by our weather office in the KARE 11 newsroom. Every morning, I get to hear Jonathan Yuhas' forecasts when he goes live during KARE 11 Sunrise.
Lately, his forecasts have been focusing on the sun and how powerful the UV index can be in a very short period of time.
So as a first-time mom, I always listen carefully so that we can get the right sun protection for our daughter.
The only problem now is, we can't seem to find the right sunscreen for her!
Much like my experience with sippy cups, I now have a collection of sunscreen that could rival Imelda Marcos' shoe collection. Okay... maybe it's not that bad yet. But I am quickly heading in that direction.
When our daughter was a baby, we tried two different sunscreens but they always bothered her, especially when she wiped her eyes with her freshly sunscreened hands.
Already this year, I've tried three different sunscreens but they all either bother her skin or make her eyes burn.
Then there's the question of whether or not we need to use a children's sunscreen or not. I'm not sure what the difference is between children's sunscreen and regular sunscreen. Is it just a marketing ploy that I've totally bought into?
How about the difference between sunscreen lotion and spray? Just how many choices can we have?
The bottom line is, I'm trying to find out if there a good sunscreen out there that I'm missing that doesn't cost a fortune? Do you have any suggestions? Because at this point, I'm not sure how much more money I want to spend on sunscreen that we will only use once.
If I get a suggestion that works, I would be willing to ship all of our sunscreen to you to use for free! Most of them have only been used once!
