Lightning strikes first outside of downtown Minneapolis.
There is no better way to officially start summer then with a good ol' fashion thunderstorm! I think we all love a nice storm once and awhile. Saying that, I don't think we've deserved some of the severe weather that's hit the upper midwest. Tornado warnings have been the norm over the past few weeks.
One of the things I love about my job is chasing storms. Working overnight allows you to leave the metro area at from time to time, getting ahead of severe weather that's rolling in. There is some excitement to it all. I'm always looking for the next great picture while driving around.
Last week Minneapolis was hit hard by severe weather that arrived in the early morning hours. I took this lightning photo just outside of downtown. It looks so pretty when it's still, doesn't it?
