We are proud of the star studded photo staff that calls KARE 11 home. As part of that special family, when I was asked to help out on the new NPPA
Station of the Year team photo, I gladly accepted.
There are 31 of us, consisting of photojournalist and editors, many who have been recognized nationally for their work. Some different ideas and locations were talked about around the metro area for our team photo, trying to find the best backdrop for all of us to stand in front of. A very simple and appropriate idea was mentioned that seemed perfect. Lets give praise to where it all started back in 1985, when we won our first NPPA
Station of the Year award. That was the first, and with seven plaques hanging in the hallway we hope there are many more to come.
(Above) Our News 11 staff photo from 1985 followed by our new photo from 2010.
We tried to emulate the original photo. We updated the skyline and placed our
staff members in television sets as well as laptop computers. The times are changing...
I'm proud to be apart of such a professional staff who knows storytelling better than anyone. We're constantly learning from each other and it's a real feather in our cap after all the hard work the photographers and reporters put in day in and day out, it's all about teamwork. We hope you enjoy watching the stories we bring to you every night.

This is the first thing I see when I walk into work... It was updated last week.
Looks like we left plenty of room for more years to be added.
Stay tuned because as always, there's much more coming up next.
Congrats to the NPPA Large Market
Station of the Year, KARE 11 News.
I'm off,
See ya next time, Naaaaaaaate
