I know it has been a while since I've written about Siena. She's almost 20 months old now,and now, she's on YouTube, check it out. She's talking. We have little conversations when we're chillin'. Here's a typical conversation:
Daddy: Siena, can Daddy have a hug?
Siena: Nope! (Not sure why she answers most questions like she's Tony Soprano)
Daddy: Siena, do you love Daddy?
Siena: Nope!
Daddy: Siena, do you want a billion dollars?
Siena: Nope!
Daddy: Siena, do you want to watch Dora?
Siena: DORA! BOOTS!... COME (she says as she extends her hand)
At least she's paying attention.
So Siena has replaced my Sony dream machine alarm clock. I usually wake up to a slap in the head, courtesy of a hand no bigger than a silver dollar. "Daddy!" she'll scream. I'll open my eyes to find her big brown eyes a mere 4 inches away from my face. "Waffle! Waffle! Waffle!" And so my day begins.
Since my daughter now has a mind of her own (which is quite active), I thought I would answer some typical bio questions for her. It's kind of like one of those pages you see in a sports game day program where you "get to know" the 10 million dollar athlete you're rooting on.
Name: Siena
Age: 1 year, 9 months
Height: 2'1" Weight: 24 pounds
Hobbies: putting things in my mouth, pulling cat's tails, taking all the pots and pans out of the cupboard and putting them on the kitchen floor, pretending to talk on the phone, arranging stuffed animals, dancing, babbling, giggling, pointing, and swinging. I enjoy long walks in the wagon but refuse to sit in a stroller (what am I, an infant? C'mon).
Idol: Dora, she speaks two languages and has a boots-wearing Monkey as a best friend, how cool is that? Plus, her head size is in the 400th percentile, so you know she's smart.
What's on your Ipod: GAGA. One name, one artist, maybe two songs. I listen to my girl when I want to feel like a lady. Gaga is my main source of exercise. She helps me shake my booty and work on my turns. Impromptu squats help tone my thighs. Oh, if I'm in the mood, I'll kick a little "California Gurls" but I have to be feeling it.
Favorite Iphone App: Talking Carl and Talking Tom. I giggle, they giggle. Everyone wins.
Next Career Move: Potty training. Elmo diapers were so 5 minutes ago and I'm sick of carrying my own "ickies" to the Diaper Champ.
Inspiration: Making Mommy laugh and animal crackers. I'll even hug my Daddy for some shortbread goodness. Am I beyond bribes? Nope!
Favorite Vacation Spot: The Giggle Factory, anyplace with a carousel, and the Dora portrait studio at the Mall of America's Nickelodeon Park (think teenage girl at a Bieber concert... or Michele Bachmann hugging George Bush). Oh, and Grandma and Grandpas house. And Grandma and Grandfather's house. They wait on me hand and foot; those suckers will buy me whatever I want!
Fashion Inspiration: Auntie Tammy. I already have the whole GAP fall line. This lady's outta control. My dad wants to know what "skinny jeans" are. What a dork... I think I'm going to start making him drop me off two blocks away from the playground.
Favorite Books: Anything Suess and anything with little doors I can open. I am currently in a princess phase, but lack the patience to sit through more than 4 pages.
That's it. Siena in a nutshell. She's a pistol, she's a riot, and she's a sweetheart.
