It's hard to imagine the 1990's so far behind us. Looking back almost 20 years, Disney's Aladdin topped the box office, America's largest mall opened in Bloomington, and Johnny Carson hosted The Tonight Show for the last time. The year was 1992. Here is a look back at a promotional photo of our evening anchor team. Some of the faces should look familiar.
Starting from the left, former Sports Director Jeff Passolt, worked in Denver before returning to the Twin Cities, now anchoring the nightly news at FOX-9. Former weekend anchor Joan Steffend could be seen on HGTV, now working with her husband on independent television projects. After her stint on WCCO Radio, Pat Miles has retired, enjoying golfing several times a week. Back in 2003, Paul Magers left Minnesota for sunny California, anchoring the weekday news at KCBS. We're lucky to still see familiar faces Diana Pierce and Randy Shaver here on KARE 11, weekdays. After working at WCCO-TV, Meteorologist Paul Douglas has developed the WeatherNation company, and works with the KARE 11 Weather Team on our WeatherNOW coverage.
Time flies when you're having fun...
See ya next time, Nate.
