Well, it finally happened. I made a mistake.
I know it's hard to believe. Me, too. But in my last blog, I said that Plymouth will no longer have a stand-alone full Post Office. Wrong.
I still don't like the idea that there won't be one in downtown Plymouth, but there is one 3 miles away within the big city's limits.
Pete Nowacki of the USPS was nice enough to call with a correction. There is, he pointed out politely, the Lost Lake Post Office on 45th Avenue North. I stand corrected.
He also pointed out that they're (Postal Service) in the Post Office building business these days. They're trying to keep envelope and glue together, so to speak. I mean they're trying to avoid the dead letter office, economically. I know that.
Call me old fashioned, but I think big, main post offices should be in a town's downtown. That's just me.
