Breast cancer fundraising used in Minnesota

GOLDEN VALLEY, Minn. - Each year, tens of thousands of people turn out for the annual Twin Cities Race for the Cure.

Minnesota's event is one of the largest in the Susan G. Komen nationwide series that raises money and awareness for breast cancer education and research.

Up to 75% of the money raised stays here in Minnesota.

Cambridge Medical CenterFoundation's Hope Fund is just one of the programs that gets help from the event.

The foundation's executive director, Julie Gotham stopped by the KARE 11 studios along with Hope Fund recipient, Barb Holmquist, to tout the benefits the Race For the Cure can have.
