TX police: Drunk child crashes after leading officers on chase

AUSTIN - A 12-year-old faces several charges after he allegedly drunkenly led police on a chase in Austin, Texas Monday morning.

An officer initially tried to stop the boy when the officer saw him nearly strike a cyclist. According to police, he was driving recklessly before he hit a pickup with two people inside. Nobody was injured in that crash.

The child, who was driving by himself, then slammed into a pole and flipped over.

He was taken to a with minor injuries.

He faces charges that include driving while intoxicated, evading arrest and failure to stop and render aid.
